7.9 PERSONAL LEAVE

Personal Leave will be awarded to full time employees on January 1 and July 1 of each year. Part time and temporary employees are not eligible for personal leave.

  • On January 1st full time employees will be awarded eight (8) hours to be taken any time between January 1 and June 30.

  • On July 1st full time employees will be awarded eight (8) hours to be taken any time between July 1 and December 31.

Personal Leave must be taken in multiples of four (4) hours.

Personal Leave will not be allowed during the first three (3) months of employment.

Personal Leave must be taken during the allotted time frame and cannot be carried over to the next 6 months or to the next calendar year.

An employee must get their Branch Supervisor’s approval before taking time off. A leave request form needs to be completed at least one (1) week in advance, signed or initialed by the Branch Supervisor, and filed with the Regional Office prior to taking a personal day.

If an employee resigns, retires, or is otherwise terminated, he/she will not be paid for unused personal leave. Accrued personal leave is also cancelled if an employee terminates employment and then is rehired.
