The library has invested in a library vehicle for delivery and staff use purposes. Employees are required to keep the library vehicle in good condition and keep it clean by removing any trash or personal items after use.

Employees must report any accidents, mechanical problems, or other problems to the Regional Office.

Only authorized employees may use the library vehicle and only may do so on library business.

Employees may not use the library vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol or while otherwise impaired.

Employees may not talk or text on a cell phone or use personal electronic devices while driving the library vehicle.

Authorized employees must show proof of a current, valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance to the Regional Office. The library expects that employees will drive in a safe and courteous manner. If any tickets are received for parking violations or moving violations, the receiving employee is responsible for taking care of them.

All occupants riding in a library vehicle, including the driver, are required to use safety restraints while the vehicle is in motion.
