FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Barry-Lawrence Regional Library Awarded Memory Kits Grant
Barry-Lawrence, MO – June 6, 2024 – The Barry-Lawrence Regional Library is excited to announce its success is being awarded a grant for Memory Kits Grant in 2024. This grant, administered by the Missouri State Library's Office of the Secretary of State, is designed to enhance library services and resources, particularly focusing on memory retention aids for aging individuals.
The 32 kits were sent to all 9 branches. They will play a vital role in supporting memory retention among patrons of all ages, especially older adults. These kits stimulate cognitive function and promote mental acuity by providing engaging materials and activities. The BLRL recognizes the importance of supporting our patrons in maintaining their cognitive health and independence. In addition to the cognitive benefits, memory kits also serve as tools for social engagement and connection within the community.
The Barry-Lawrence Regional Library is committed to promoting lifelong learning and well-being, and the Memory Kits Project aligns perfectly with this mission. The Library expresses gratitude for being awarded $5000.00 for these Memory Kits.
This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
