The Monett Library is starting a new Hoopla book club group.

Updated: May 1, 2020

Hoopla Digital is a web and mobile (iOS/Android) library media streaming platform for audio books, comics, ebooks, movies, music, and TV.

Hoopla is a resource the Barry-Lawrence Library provides free to their patrons.

Each patron is allowed 6 selections per month to download to their device.

You will need a library card in order to get the Hoopla App.

The Hoopla book club will read one book each quarter, which is chosen by Hoopla. Everyone who reads the book will then meet to discuss the selection.

The first meeting will be held at the Monett Historical Museum on Wednesday, Oct. 16th at 10:00 AM. For this first meeting it would be helpful if you could call the Monett Branch to let us know that you are reading the Hoopla book so that we can plan appropriately for the meeting. The branch phone number is 417-235-6646.

If there is interest in meeting at a different time of day or day of the week, please let the staff at the Monett Branch know what would work best for you.

The Hoopla book selection for this quarter is: “The Gone Dead” by Chanelle Benz. It was published in 2019 and the Genre is literary thriller.
