The Aurora Branch Library recently participated in the Celebrate Aurora Window Decoration Contest, and we won 1st place/ Best Overall Display!
The theme was Celebrate Aurora or Happy Birthday Aurora. Library staff stacked around 110 library books to create a multi-tiered birthday cake. The display covered a total of 4 windows in total (2 sets of 2 windows) and included hand-cut shimmery lettering.
We focused on celebrating Aurora's 152nd birthday and the Aurora Branch Library's 103 years. The display needed to also be illuminated, so we included candles on the cake and on the shelving below the wording to light up the words. Above the cake, we had the words Happy Birthday and decorated with some balloons and paper pom poms.
The competition included 9 Aurora businesses in total.
