We will discuss the basic principles behind how bitcoin and cryptocurrencies work in general. This discussion will be aimed at people that are complete cryptocurrency BEGINNERS, looking for easy-to-understand explanations in a way that is not overly technical. But, more advanced questions will be addressed in later lectures.


Cryptocurrency vs. Government Money

In this discussion, We will start to get into what makes money valuable and answer some of the most common questions people have as to why “crypto” is becoming popular. Dr. Forsyth will clear up common misconceptions about crypto and the world economics behind the rise of cryptocurrency. This discussion will help people understand why cryptocurrency is a safe way to store value.


Evaluating Different Types of Cryptocurrency

This session will show people different uses for “blockchain technology” and show some specific examples of why cryptocurrency can be used to solve numerous problems. We’ll discuss many of the top cryptocurrency tokens on the market and what makes them unique. Forsyth will show that cryptocurrency is not just digital money; It is a digital way of solving many challenging problems related to trust.


How to Buy and Sell Cryptocurrency Safely

Thursday, June 24, 7:00 PM at the Monett Park Casino NEW DATE!

In this presentation, we’ll see a cryptocurrency transaction live in front of the audience. We will discover how trading works by making a trade on an exchange in real-time. This session will cover doing advanced actions with cryptocurrency but in an easy-to-understand way. Dr. Forsyth will also discuss how to put your cryptocurrency into “cold storage” for safekeeping, and which exchanges are safe to use and why. Participants will learn which methods are safe and best suited for storing or transmitting their tokens, depending on the circumstances.

Dr. J.R. Forsyth has been involved in the cryptocurrency movement from the beginning and has a deep understanding of the technology behind the scenes. A skilled and seasoned speaker, Dr. Forsyth is considered one of the world’s leading experts on cryptocurrency. Dr. Forsyth will NOT be endorsing any particular currency or giving any financial or investment advice of any kind.


This educational program is a fundraiser for The New Monett Library; The Library will collect a $10 suggested donation per night at the door.
