PIERCE CITY BRANCH—Part Time Library Assistant-Youth Services
Part time position Library Assistant, Youth Services (20 hours per week) position available September 1, 2026 at the Pierce City Branch Library. Duties include, but are not limited to, organizing and conducting all youth (toddler, children, teen) programming and events, including preschool story time, homeschool student programs, summer reading program, and working with middle grade students and teens. Responsible for weeding and maintaining children and teen collections. Performs general circulation duties and assists library customers in locating information and books.
Desirable experience, education, and training—Graduation from high school required. Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in a library-related field preferred. Experience in library work including working with children and teens and a knowledge of children’s and teen literature; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which demonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities of position are REQUIRED. Must possess the ability to positively promote library services in the community. Excellent computer, organizational, and customer service skills required.
Starting pay ($15.75-$19.00 per hour) is dependent upon experience and education level. Part time vacation and sick leave benefits are included. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Currently, the Pierce City Branch is open Monday, Wednesday - Friday, 8:30-5:30. They are closed on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
