If you are a regular Hoopla user, you know that each patron is limited to 6 titles per month. But, what you probably don't realize is that the BLR Library is also limited in the total number of titles we can download per day. Because of this limitation, some people are finding they are temporarily blocked from borrowing titles using the Hoopla app.
The Barry-Lawrence Regional Library regrets this inconvenience to our Hoopla fans. This limitation is due to a cost issue; Although Hoopla is free for patrons to use, the library must pay for each of your downloads.
In the future, we hope to be able to afford to expand this ultra-popular service; but for now, here are some tips to make the most of the BLRL's online services:
Hoopla limits are reset at midnight each day, so you will be less likely to be blocked early in the day.
The Libby app doesn't have limits like Hoopla, so install both and use Libby and Hoopla. https://www.blrlibrary.com/downloads
Ebsco does also offer downloadable content. http://web.a.ebscohost.com/ehost/search/selectdb?vid=0&sid=f4545e83-99e8-4a30-9205-68f91ccd71a1%40sessionmgr4006
