BLRL Adds More STEAM Power

The BLRL has been awarded a $20,000 LSTA STEAM Kit Grant for our patrons. STEAM stands for Science Technology Engineering Art and Mathematics, and we are excited to provide these kits to the community. One hundred fifty amazing new kits will inspire learning with activities tailored to kids and families. Patrons can borrow some of the kits, while others are for use in the Library. There are some special rules on checking out kits so ask your friendly librarian about it the next time you are in your local Library.

We selected Penworthy Publishing to supply the kits; Penworthy's products are highly rated and considered "the gold standard" for this type of material. The 150 "STEAM to GO" kits feature a wide array of fun activities that will help kids and families connect with knowledge and creativity.

This project is supported by funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provision of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
