Reduction in Library Hours

Updated: Dec 18, 2019

Beginning the week of December 30th there will be the following reduction/ change in some library locations' hours of operation.

The Miller Branch will be open from 8:30-5:30

(instead of 9-6 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday: )

The Marionville Branch will close on Tuesdays

(open Monday and Wednesday Thursday & Friday 8:30-5:30)

These changes are being made due the need to put the library's limited resources in the right place and times to serve the most library patrons in Marionville and Miller. Due to inadequate funding levels, the library must make hard choices; Last year the BLRL shut down one of our smaller branches completely. Reduction in library hours has become the norm across the library district.

The Barry-Lawrence Regional Library welcomes our community's interest in this issue and invites you to become part of the solution; find out how online at or call 417-235-6646.

The library board approved these operational changes at their November Board Meeting held on 11/21/2019.
