Local Young "YouTuber" Does Storytime At The Monett Library

The video above is Junia's tenth YouTube Story-Time; you can check out her other "episodes" at Brian and Annie Smith channel on YouTube.

Nothing is better than sharing a book with your friends; Junia (with the help of her Mom & Dad) is making the most of technology by recording her reading of books so she can share her obvious love of books and reading with everyone.

Story-time videos like Junia's may be a way to help to kids that are not getting read to very often. A recent report finds that fewer than half of parents read aloud to their children every day, this is disturbing when you consider a national study shows that children who were read to frequently are better at counting (60% vs. 44%) writing (54% vs. 40%) and interested in learning to read (77% vs. 57%)

To sum it up, not only are Junia's Story-time videos about as cute as it gets, but they could be helping kids to learn build a foundation of learning and love of books. To share and subscribe to her channel find her on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/user/bjsmith79 or if your a parent or a kid that wants to follow her lead and record your own story-times please let the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library know about it, We would love to feature more library patron content.

Special Thanks to the Smiths
